For homeowners

Going solar with Okapi

The short version: RM0 upfront, one fixed monthly rate, yours at the end.

What exactly is rent-to-own solar?
Okapi pays for your solar system and a certified partner installs it on your roof. You pay one fixed monthly rate for the length of your plan. When the term ends, the system and everything it generates belongs to you. No deposit, no separate bank loan to arrange.
Is it really RM0 upfront?
Yes. No downpayment, no installation fee, no processing fee. Your monthly payments begin only after the system is installed and generating.
How do I qualify, and how long does it take?
Qualification takes about 5 minutes. We'll ask for your IC, a recent TNB bill and proof of income. Once your documents are complete, approval follows within 2 days.
How much will I save?
It depends on your usage and roof, but your fixed monthly rate is designed to sit below what you currently pay TNB, so you save from month one, and your rate never rises with tariffs. Send us your bill for an exact number, free.
Which plan should I choose?
Okapi Plus (7 or 10 years) is one fixed rate with full coverage, the simplest option. Okapi Flex (10 years) starts lower in year one and steps up slightly after that, for maximum early savings. Okapi Sprint clears the cost in 12 payments with 10 years of coverage, the fastest route to ownership. We'll recommend one with your quote.
Who installs the system?
A vetted, certified installer from our network of 110+ partners, including some of the biggest names in Malaysian solar. Every installation is SEDA-registered.
What if something breaks?
Monitoring and maintenance are included for your entire term. If the system underperforms, fixing it is our problem, not yours.
What if I sell my house before the term ends?
Talk to us. Plans can typically be settled early or transferred to the new owner. A solar roof with a below-market energy cost is a selling point, not a liability.

For installers

Partnering with Okapi

The short version: we finance, you install, you keep the customer.

See the partner programme →
Do you compete with installers?
No. Okapi has no installation crews and sells no systems. 100% of the installs we finance are built by partners. We're the payment plan behind your quote. Your customer, your brand, your install.
How fast can my customer get approved?
Qualification takes 5 minutes, and you can run it together at the kitchen table. Once the customer's documents (IC, TNB bill, proof of income) are complete, approval follows within 2 days. The timeline is really set by how fast the documents come in.
What does it cost to join?
Nothing. Registration is free and non-exclusive. Quote with Okapi on the deals where it helps, and skip it where it doesn't.
How and when do I get paid?
Okapi pays you directly on agreed milestones, so you never wait on the homeowner's monthly payments. Full terms are in the partner agreement; email partnerships@okapisolar.com for details.
What do I need to qualify as a partner?
A registered business, the relevant certifications for grid-connected solar work, and a track record we can verify. Register once and we'll take it from there.
